Mess of a Dream

Let's talk about something fun for once! How about television?

When I find a show that I really, really like, I squeal during the good parts. Does anyone else do this? Or am I once again proving how mental I truly am? I know that it's just television and even the reality shows aren't reality anymore but there are a few shows that consistently make me extremely happy to watch.

Project Runway - I didn't watch last season but I'm hooked on this one and I'm very sad the finale is coming up. I am rooting for Daniel V (I don't like his model though. She's done a good job for him, obviously, but she always looks so angry.)

Boston Legal - I've already talked about this one in depth. Have I mentioned that I love James Spader?

The Amazing Race - I love this show!

*Caution: Spoilers Ahead*

The season premiere was last night and I've already got my favorites. I was disappointed that John and Scott got eliminated first. I couldn't quite figure out if they are just really good friends or if they are partners. I think it seemed fairly obvious to me that John is gay and they were touchy with each other at times. Even during their elimination, they held hands. I was confused on their relationship. Perhaps they are both gay but not romantically linked to one another. I would have liked to have seen them go further though. I think they would have been fun to watch.

On the other hand, there are a couple of teams I would have been glad to get out of the way early.

Lake and Michelle - The husband, Lake, is a real asshole and it will only make his elimination that much sweeter when it happens. I feel sorry for his wife though. My favorite Lake moment was when he introduced himself to Ray. Ray asked his name and he responded, "Lake." To which Ray repeated it back to him in an effort to make sure he heard him correctly. And Lake says "Like the ocean" (since when is a lake like an ocean? I get what he meant but he should have said like a pond). He then asked Ray his name and Ray responded, "Ray ... like the sun." ha!

Joni and Lisa - These two grated on my nerves the entire time. They complained, were loud and obnoxious and called themselves "Glamazons". Ick.

The Ones I'm Rooting For

B.J. and Tyler - these guys have the possibility of becoming annoying, however; they were nice to the other teams and seem to have good personalities. I reserve the right to change my mind about them.

Ray and Yolanda - I like this couple. I like the way they handle themselves and the way they work together. When they had all of those men standing out by the motorcycle shop harassing Yolanda (and she does have a killer figure), I was impressed that they both ignored it and continued working. I probably would have been in tears and ready to quit.

David and Lori - I just thought these two were really cute together. They really are total geeks and aren't afraid to show it. I just hope they don't turn it into a routine where they are trying too hard to be geeky. Favorite moment with them was when they were standing in line at the airport after running from one terminal to the next. They were at the back of a long line and Lori waves a paper in her face and says, "I'm hot" and David responds back, "You are hot!" (Referencing her looks, not her temperature)

Okay, now that I've rambled on long enough about television ... enjoy your day!

I confess to being a TV junkie. I have a DVR and I've been discovering so many new (to me) shows lately. When I read on CNN that Michael J. Fox was going to be appearing in three episodes of Boston Legal, I made a mental note of it and recorded those episodes. I'd never watched Boston Legal before, but I absolutely adore Michael J. Fox. He was my only celebrity crush throughout junior high school so I naturally have a fierce, loyal allegience to support anything that man does. He IS the 80's for me.

It really only took one episode for me to become hooked. I am addicted to Boston Legal. And, I have a major squeeee thing going for James Spader. On this show, Spader just exudes this confidence and he's actually quite the pervert too. He's not what I'd normally define as traditionally sexy... but he's got something going for him that just makes me say "yay" everytime he comes on the screen.

Also, I did not realize that James Spader was E. Edward Grey from the movie "Secretary". I loved that movie! I'm going to have to rent it again now though because I have a new outlook.

I don't just like the show because of James Spader though. It really is a good show. I feel like I've just reverted back to my silly Michael J. Fox crush again, only this time with James Spader. And just so you know, I'm totally embarrassed to be admitting my adoration to a celebrity.

Hello. My name is Joy. I am 31 years old and I love celebrities.

It's all about the first step.
