Mess of a Dream

Some say that no news is good news but in my case it just means I lead a rather boring, routine life.

Chris and I took my son to see Annie this weekend. I think it is possibly my favorite musical of all time but this is the first time I've seen it performed live. When I bought the tickets, I knew it would be more for me than my son but I think they both enjoyed it also. The little girls were so entertaining and did an amazing job.

Other than that there's just not much going on. I'll try to think of something more interesting soon.

Blech.

One thing that I've rarely been able to resist is a lollipop or as I call them, suckers.

I don't know what it is about suckers but I can eat them by the handful. My favorites are Tootsie Pops. And I cannot tell you how many licks it takes to get to the Tootsie Roll in a Tootsie Roll Pop because I am like the owl in the commercial and only get to about five licks or so before I'm chomping into it. My teeth thank me, I'm sure.

But did you know that Tootsie Pops are evolving?

Now, for something complete different and not quite so pathetic, I've been tagged! Yay! I've never been tagged before. I love Aimee.

What were you doing 10 years ago? I was married, my son was not quite one year old and I was a SAHM. I loved that time, as brief as it was. 1996 was also the year my marriage finally went kaput.

Tonight, I found myself watching an old episode of Oprah that I recorded a few days back. Oprah first interviewed a woman named Stacey when she weighed 550 pounds. After having gastric bypass surgery, she returned to the show, having lost 300 pounds.

The thing that really struck a chord with me was the total honesty this woman had about what being fat does to a person's emotional health.

This might possibly be the oddest URL address I've seen.

Not to mention that the image is kinda cool too.

BalloonHat is one of the neatest things I've seen in a long time.

Two Things I Dig:

How I Met Your Mother:

Okay, if you're not watching this little show on CBS, you totally should be. Bob Saget is the narrator. Bob Saget! I always think of him as Danny Tanner from Full House but I loved him and still do. The basic premise of the show is that the narrator is telling his children how he met their mother. So, each week, it's a new story about something that happened to this guy 20 years earlier, eventually leading up to meeting his wife. And, all of the flashbacks take place in current day. So, the beginning of the show is in the 2020's and they're flashing back to 2005. Anyway, in the flashbacks, Doogie Houser plays the best friend and he's actually quite comical and makes me laugh out loud. It's a really good show. Watch it!

Sarah Jessica Parker.

Ever since she was Janey on Girls Just Want to Have Fun, I've pledged my loyalty to her. I was 12 years old when I first watched this movie. Every single time my mother would take me to the movie rental store, I would check it out. Every. Single. Time.

I saw The Family Stone last weekend and I have to say it was very good. I love Diane Keaton and the rest of the actors were okay but I think SJP and Diane Keaton made the movie.

And, my boyfriend gave me her new perfume, Lovely, for Christmas. And she's right. It smells very classic with a hint of musk and some lavender and when I wear it, I feel like I'm wearing a bit of my grandma. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not but I do think the perfume is adequately named, it is Lovely.

I feel different today. I took down my Christmas tree today which is always a major pain in the ass to do. I knew that I needed to get it done but it wasn't on my list of high priorities. Anyway, I started just taking off small things and before I knew it I had the tree down and everything packed away.

I opened the windows this afternoon for awhile. With the slight breeze blowing in and the house back to it's non-festive way, I feel good. I find myself wanting it to stay lighter outside for longer. It is 5:40 pm here and the sun is already setting. I think it's un-natural and unfair for the sun to set before 7 pm. Just my opinion.
